The Chowchilla Subbasin DWMP is operating in coordination with partners from the Chowchilla Nitrate Management Zone (CV-Salts) and Self-Help Enterprises
What is the Chowchilla Management Zone?
The Chowchilla Management Zone is made up of local stakeholders from agricultural, including irrigated cropland, poultry facilities, dairies and publicly owned wastewater treatment facilities, and businesses including food processors, wineries and other that have permits to discharge nitrates.

Ensure safe drinking water supply
Reduce nitrate impacts to the groundwater
Implement long-term efforts to restore groundwater quality
What is Self Help?
Self-Help Enterprises is a nationally recognized community development organization whose mission is to work together with low-income families to build and sustain healthy homes and communities. Since 1965, Self-Help Enterprises’ efforts have touched the lives of over 65,000 families.
Domestic water well repair or replacement? Is your well pumping sand or low producing? Do you think your well is failing? Our techs will inspect the quality of your well and measure the depth of the well and the depth to water. We will help you determine if your well is in good operating condition. We will provide operation and maintenance education for long-term sustainability and in some cases can offer financial assistance for repairing or replacing your well through Self-Help.
